26x26 vs 35x35 Wild Rags: Which Size Should You Choose?

If you are shopping for your first wild rag, the first question is usually size. Tirzah Lane wild rags come in two: the 26" x 26" and the 35" x 35". Both carry the same hand-drawn original artwork, both are printed on both sides with a rolled hem, and both make a beautiful gift. The difference is in the fabric, the feel and how you like to tie them.

The quick answer

Choose the 35x35 if you want the traditional wild rag size, a silk sheen, and room for fuller knots. Choose the 26x26 if you want a lighter, softer scarf for warm days, a neater knot, or an easy gift.

Why 35x35 is the traditional size

35" x 35" is the classic size worn on the ranch and in the arena. The extra fabric gives you room for fuller knots like the Buckaroo, or tuck the ends inside a jacket on a cold morning ride. In 100% mulberry silk, it has a soft sheen and a little more body, so knots hold their shape.

Why people love the 26x26

The 26x26 blends natural silk with plant-based TENCEL™ Lyocell for a soft, matte finish. It is lighter at the neck, which makes it a favorite for summer, ranch work and everyday wear. It also works in the hair or tied on a bag, and its size makes it a common gift choice.

Which one fits your day?

  • Riding in fall and winter: 35x35. More coverage and more ways to tie it.
  • Summer rodeos and warm-weather work: 26x26. Lighter and cooler.
  • A first wild rag for a gift: either works. The 26x26 is the easy pick; the 35x35 is the classic.
  • You love a big, full knot: 35x35.
  • You want a scarf for the hair or a handbag too: 26x26.

Many designs come in both sizes with the same artwork, including Round Up, Saddle Club, Poppy Cowgirl, Moonlit Chase and Western Harvest in Deep Juniper. You can start with one and add the other later.
